Open, edit, and save files using the new file formats in 2007 versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. You can change Word’s default language dictionary: Choose Tools→Language. Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint File Formats. The default dictionary determines which language’s proofing tools Word uses for spelling and grammar.
Word 2011 for Mac comes with foreign-language dictionaries such as Czech, French, Russian, and more. Excel for Microsoft 365 Word for Microsoft 365 Outlook for Microsoft 365 PowerPoint for Microsoft 365 Access for Microsoft 365. With Office 2011 for Mac, you can check spelling and grammar in languages other than English. In the Text Services and Input Languages dialog box, under Default input language, click the language that you want to use as the default language. In the Regional and Language dialog box, on the Keyboards and Languages tab, click Change keyboards. If you don't have that language already installed you will need to download the free Language Accessory Pack. The Detect language automatically option, available in Word and Outlook on Windows, detects the language that you are typing and automatically enables the proofing tools for that language.
User Interface & Editing - The display and keyboard languages for Office for Android is the same as the language that the device is set to. To make it the default for all new documents click Default. Please contact your local IT staff for installation.Editing - To change your editing language for this file in Office for Mac go to Tools Language, select your language, and click OK. If the language you want to use does not appear in the dropdown menus in Microsoft Office Language Settings, you need to get a language pack for the language installed. Your settings on this tab are important for spellchecking and other language specific options for your Office documents. Here you may also select your primary editing language, which is the language you will be using most.
Go to the Editing Languages tab, and select the languages you'll use for editing documents.In this dialogue you may also set a different language for Help topics in MS Office. Select your language from the dropdown menu. Go to the Display Language tab, and deselect (click to remove the check mark) in the Set the Microsoft Office display language to match the Windows display language box. Open the Start menu, select Microsoft Office Tools and then select Microsoft Office Language Settings or Language Preferences (depending on the Office version). Changing the display language in Microsoft Office for Windows: If you want to use Office in a different language than Windows, you can set this. Please see Changing display language for Windows for more information about the Windows language versions. The display language in Microsoft Office for Windows follows the language setting for the OS.
The choices you make on this dialog are active regardless of the source of the MathML.

Launch this dialog from the dialog box launcher (Windows) or the MathType Options command (Mac) in the MathType group of the MathType tab in Word 2016 for Mac, or the MathType menu in Word 2011 for Mac. If Mac OS X is set to your preferred language, but Microsoft office is displayed in another, Office is not available in your preferred language.
The display language in Microsoft Office for Mac OS X follows the language setting for the OS as far as possible.
